Welcome to Sweetwater Waikiki

Sweetwater Waikiki, nestled at 201 ʻŌhua Ave #403 in Honolulu, offers travelers a practical and budget-friendly retreat in the heart of one of Hawaii’s most vibrant beach towns. With a solid rating of 3.8, this hotel strikes a balance between comfort and value, making it an attractive choice for visitors who prioritize location and convenience over luxury.

Guests appreciate the clean and spacious rooms, with comfortable beds that promise restful nights after days spent exploring Waikiki’s lively surf beaches and cultural hotspots. The pool area, while modest, provides a welcome oasis in the tropical heat. Amenities like free Wi-Fi, free parking, and accessible accommodations enhance the overall convenience, especially for families and those with mobility needs.

The location is a standout feature. Just two blocks from Kuhio Beach, Sweetwater Waikiki places guests close to scenic shoreline views, hula shows, and an array of eateries and shops that define Honolulu’s tourist hub. The hotel’s quieter east-end position on Kuhio Blvd means fewer crowds and less traffic, allowing guests to unwind more easily.

While the hotel’s staffing and check-in procedures may feel a bit complicated—owing to its multiple timeshare affiliations—once settled in, visitors find the service reliable and helpful. The presence of a small market within the building further ensures convenient access to essentials without straying far from the room.

Sweetwater Waikiki may not boast expansive luxury or a full suite of recreational facilities like a fitness center, but its kid-friendly environment, hot tub, and smoke-free policy contribute to a pleasant atmosphere. It’s an ideal base for travelers who want to immerse themselves in the Waikiki experience rather than stay confined within hotel walls.

Overall, Sweetwater Waikiki impresses as a well-located, cost-effective option that meets the core expectations of comfort and accessibility. Its genuine aloha spirit and strategic position near iconic Hawaiian attractions invite guests to explore, relax, and embrace the island’s lifestyle without the premium price tag.

Don't listen to the bad reviews - this place was perfectly fine. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, pool was nice. They are understaffed so pre-vacation communication was limited (and a bit stressful), but once we got there, no issues. Good location and free parking was huge! One of the cheapest places we could find in Waikiki and I have no regrets. I'd stay there again.

Perfectly good option if you’re only looking for a place to sleep and stay and not actually spend time in the hotel. The rooms are spacious enough and comfortable with good service from front desk. We stayed through Christmas week and we always saw someone in reception. There is a small market with everything you might need in the building. The pool and amenities area is a little scarce and could use improvements but the location compensates. It is located one block from the beach in Waikiki which has beautiful restaurants and lots of stores, as well as a breath taking walkway for sunset.

Location is good, about 2 blocks to Kuhio beach. On the East End of Kuhio Blvd means less traffic and less people... Somewhat. The hotel is somewhat confusing since the main "owner" is Aston but there are 5 timeshare companies within the building and there are owners too. If you booked with a timeshare the main check in is not for you. You have to go to a different office, that got me worried until front desk told me where to go. The positives: rooms are sufficient, bathroom & the room is clean. sheets and towels are clean. Kitchen is well appointed. VRI staff are amazing. Location is good The negative: The mattress are tired. The furnitures are a bit dated. There is a nail sticking out of the room divider that I have to put a permanent slipper on so we don't step on it. The 6th floor swimming pool area is a 50 shades of green disaster. Need updating but very sufficient.
